AASA Donates Books to Ondoy-Affected School in Marikina
Last Monday, May 24, 2010, representatives from the Ateneo Alumni Scholars Association and Pathways visited Concepcion Integrated School (CIS) in Marikina to donate new books to the school. This was done to fulfill of AASA’s promise of giving part of the donations from the Ateneo 500@150 Telethon to people affected by Ondoy.
Receiving the books for the school was CIS Principal Janet Amurao. Representing AASA were Executive Committee Member Heaven Torres, Assistant Program Officer Jandrew Serafica and Student Assistant Edrian Dy while Pathways was represented by Ira Tamis.
CIS was affected by typhoon Ondoy last year and its library’s books were destroyed by the flood. This was the reason why they were chosen to be given help. In the coming weeks, one more school will be given aid by AASA for the completion of this project.
