A Letter of Thanks from an Ateneo Scholar

Piggy banks are given to scholars by the AASA before their graduation. The purpose of these piggy banks is to give the scholars a chance to give back in a little way. Once the piggy bank is full, it is returned to AASA and its contents will go to the scholarship fund.

Last February 2010, Mr. Nestor Buena, father of Tiffany Joy Buena (BS Communications Technology Management 2009), returned her piggy bank at the AASA office. Along with it was a thank you letter written by the alumni scholar. With the permission of Ms. Buena, let us share to you the contents of her letter.

Greetings!
 

Together with this piggy bank, I would like to present this letter as an expression of my gratitude for the scholarship granted to me in the past three years (2006-2009) that I studied in the Ateneo. My family and I are more than grateful to be the recipient of such generosity, which made it possible for me to finish my education in a reputable university.

Almost a year had passed since I graduated, and I have been working in a good company the past nine months. The year had its ups and downs but to be in a position where I am now, to finally be earning on my own, is something that I, together with my parents, take pride in. That is why we are looking forward to paying forward your generosity to the future scholars of Ateneo when my family and I would be financially stable enough to finally extend our support to deserving Ateneo students.

We apologize for returning this piggy bank quite late, but it is with a deep sense of gratitude that we hand this small token to help to the present scholars of your organization.
