Donate School Supplies to Children Affected by Fire

Last Saturday, August 7, 2010 the Ateneo Alumni Scholars Association (AASA) teamed up with Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte and other barangay officials in donating bags and school supplies to 200 students of Mines Elementary School at the Palanas Basketball Court, Brgy. Vasra, Quezon City. These children and their families were affected by a fire that occurred in their vicinity last July. Bags that were given were made out of campaign tarpaulins during the past elections. They contained notebooks and writing materials. To view the complete photos of the event, click here.

This was part of the Ateneo 500@150 Telethon program which to help schools affected by tragedies. AASA was represented by AASA President Victor Claravall, AASA Executive Committee Member Heaven Torres, AASA Assistant Program Officer Jandrew Serafica and, AASA Student Assistant Edrian Dy.

   Piggy Bank

Get a chance to have an Ateneo pin for returning your piggy bank! If your piggy bank is already full, drop by the AASA office and receive an Ateneo pin; a small gift from AASA for your efforts. Our office is located at Room 313 Bellarmine Hall, Ateneo de Manila University. These pins are only given to those who will return their piggy banks personally and, they are only available until supplies last so hurry!

If you are unable to drop by, don’t worry. We can have your piggy bank picked-up at your home or office. Just contact us at the numbers below to set a schedule.
