Demise of Atty. Cip Maribojoc Print E-mail

The Grade School community sadly announces the passing away of ATTY. CIPRIANO  P. MARIBOJOC on Wednesday, September 6, 2012.  He was 74 years old. Atty. Cip, as he was fondly called by those who knew him,  served the Grade School in various capacities for 41  years.  He began working as Office Secretary at the Headmaster?s Office in April 1963 and then became the Administrative Assistant in 1968  after he obtained his Bachelor of Laws.  He assumed the position of Director for Physical Plant, which was later on renamed Director for Administration, from 1978 until his retirement in March 2005. He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia, who also was a Grade School faculty member and later on an administrator,  from 1964 to 2006,  and children  Eric, Lisa, Joey, Jo and Raymond.

We remember Atty. Cip with much fondness and are grateful for the inspiration gained from a life well-lived as a dedicated, committed and loyal co-worker at the Ateneo de Manila Grade School, and as a kind and generous husband, father and grandfather to his family.

He is being waked at the Loyola Memorial Park Marikina Chapel and will be transferred to the Ateneo de Manila Grade School Chapel of the Holy Guardian Angels on Saturday, September 8 at 7.30am. The Funeral Mass will be on Sunday, September 9 at the AGS Chapel at 8.00am and the
burial at Loyola Memorial Park, Marikina at 10.00am.

Let us pray:

Eternal rest grant unto Cipriano, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him.

May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed,
Through the mercy of God,
Rest in peace.

Amen.

DReaM Team Relief Operations Print E-mail

13 August 2012

Memo to: The University Community

Subject: DReaM Team Relief Operations

As heavy monsoon rains flooded Metro Manila and neighboring provinces last week, the Ateneo de Manila Disaster Response and Management (DReaM) Team, in cooperation with the Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan, convened swiftly to bring
relief to affected communities and evacuation centers.

Relief operations started on Tuesday, 7 August, and closed only last Saturday, 11 August.  Through the kindness and generosity of everyone, we raised about 2M pesos in cash donations, and prepared/distributed -

. about 30,900 ready-to-eat meals (27,400 from the AHS; 2,000 from ACED and Loyola Mountaineers; about 1,500 from various donors)

. more than 13,000 family packs of relief goods

These were distributed to our many partner communities of the poor, and even to non-partner communities in the NCR, Rizal, Bataan, Pampanga, Laguna, and Zambales areas.

On behalf of the Ateneo de Manila, I would like to thank the whole community for coming together during this time of anxiety. Those who came were more than 4,000 volunteers (students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni), army and marine units from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and cadets from the Philippine National Police Academy.

As we now go into rehabilitation work, we know that we cannot let our guard down during this trying season of inclement weather.

The Ateneo way shares in the Filipino spirit that is waterproof. Your generosity and compassion, especially to the least of God's people, is proof enough of a shared spirit that refuses to be broken.  By our love we know the Lord lives, and that the Lord is with our spirit.

Maraming salamat at pagpalain pa Niya ang inyong kagandahang-loob.

Jose Ramon T. Villarin, S.J.
President
