Memo to: The University Community

Subject: Ignatian Festival

Last year we began a new tradition to celebrate the birth of Jesus through our Christmas Parks. Your support and cooperation paved the way for a meaningful celebration in the community.

This year, integral to our mission and identity, we would like to add another tradition of celebrating the feast of St. Ignatius by holding the first Ignatian Festival entitled "Atenista Ako, Kadiwa ni Ignacio."

This will be a whole-day event here in the Loyola Campus on Saturday, 21 July 2012. We hope to reach out to as many of our alumni as possible.

I would like to invite the University community to be part of this event composed of plenary talks, panel discussions, a Eucharistic celebration to be presided over by Archbishop Luis G. Tagle DD STD, and a musical concert to be directed by Fr. Manoling Francisco, S.J. Information about this major activity has already been disseminated through media and on our website www.ateneo.edu.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Jose Ramon T. Villarin, S.J.
President

Prayers Requested for Ms. Gracita "Grace" De los Santos Print E-mail

We would like to request the Loyola Schools Community to pray for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Gracita "Grace" De los Santos, who passed  away on Friday, 29 June 2012 due to colon cancer.

Grace is fondly remembered for the work that she has done in the Ateneo especially in relation with the Management Engineering Department and  after the restructuring, the Management Engineering Program. She served as the ME department secretary and then administrative assistant from 1980 to 2002. During her years with ME, she helped develop a strong network of ME alumni who could be tapped to support the department's many activities and resource needs.

Her remains are at the Ascension Chapels, Araneta Avenue Corner Baloy Street, Quezon City. The Cremation will be held on Tuesday, 3 July 2012.

Thank you very much.
